A Program for Problem Solvers
Welcome to the Husky Math Academy (HMA), a program at the University of Washington designed for motivated students in grades 7-9 who want to deepen their understanding of mathematics through rigorous problem solving.
Our program aims to help students develop a strong foundation in mathematics beyond the standard school curriculum. This will prepare them for advanced mathematical work in high school, college, and future careers. Our classes cover topics in algebra, geometry, number theory, combinatorics, and mathematical proof.
Why Choose HMA?
Expert Instruction: Our instructors include UW faculty, industry professionals, and experienced coaches with deep expertise in math education and problem solving.
Engaged Community: HMA attracts dedicated students who share a passion for math, creating an inspiring and supportive learning environment.
Rigorous Curriculum: Weekly homework assignments and engaging class discussions prepare students for advanced mathematical work.
We meet on Thursdays from 5-8pm at the UW Seattle Campus.
Free, Thanks to Your Support
HMA is fully funded by donations to the UW Math Circle fund, allowing us to offer all activities at no cost to admitted students. We encourage families of participants to contribute through regular donations.
